“Día de Muertos – 3 x 2022 Maple Leaf” – is a special edition of the classic bullion coin issued annually by Royal Canadian Mint. Día de Muertos – Day of the Dead, is a Mexican holiday that was entered on the UNESCO list of Intangible Heritage in 2008. It is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd to reunite the living and dead. Families create offerings to honor their dearly departed family members. The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the departed souls hear the family’s prayers, smell their foods and join in the celebrations.
